HAY PODER EN NÚMEROS

"Otra vez os digo, que si dos de vosotros se pusieren de acuerdo en la tierra acerca de cualquiera cosa que pidieren, les será hecho por mi Padre que está en los cielos. Porque donde están dos o tres congregados en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos." (Mateo 18:19-20)

Orando y ayunando en unidad es el arma espiritual más poderosa que Dios nos ha dado. La mayoría de los creyentes no tienen idea de la potente arma espiritual que es orando y ayunando en unidad. Por supuesto, todos los creyentes creen que "la oración cambia las cosas" y que "hay poder en la oración". Pero la mayoría de los creyentes no tienen entendimiento de lo mucho que puede cambiar las cosas la oración o simplemente cuanto poder realmente hay en la oración. Y  menos en cuanto la oración y el ayuno en unidad.

LA BASE BÍBLICA

En Mateo 18:19-20, Jesús hizo una declaración que es la clave para entender el concepto de la oración y el ayuno unida. El significado de esto ha sido poco comprendido. Dios nos ha dado el reino, en el sentido de su autoridad para gobernar. Gobernamos a través de la oración y es en ese sentido que somos reyes, como en Apocalipsis 1:6. Es por esto que podemos tener la respuesta a nuestras oraciones. Tenemos autoridad con Dios. Pero como individuos, nuestra autoridad es limitada. Sólo se desata cuando oramos en unidad.

Tenemos un poder ilimitado en la oración sólo cuando oramos de acuerdo con otros. Nuestro poder se incrementa dramáticamente cuando actuamos en unidad. Como hijos de Dios, somos el Cuerpo de Cristo. Logramos nuestra plena afectividad cuando actuamos como un cuerpo. Y la manera en la que podemos más abierta y directa que podemos hacerlo es cuando nos unimos en la oración y el ayuno.

ESTEMOS DE ACUERDO CON DIOS

No podemos estar orando en contra de la voluntad de Dios. Si lo estamos, lo mejor esperamos que nuestras oraciones no sean contestadas. Cuando Dios concede una petición contraria a su voluntad, como a veces lo hace, lo hace como reprimenda. Un ejemplo de esto se encuentra en Números 11, donde el pueblo de Israel literalmente lloraban por carne, de modo que fue el rechazo flagrante de la voluntad de Dios (Él ya les había dado el maná). ¡Envió la carne, y con ella una plaga!

Debemos entender que la unidad debe ser completa y real para que esto tome efecto. Los creyentes que están orando no sólo pueden estar de acuerdo con los labios, sino que debe estar de acuerdo con sus corazones. Hay varios ejemplos bíblicos de casos de personas unidas en oración y ayuno en circunstancias que dejan claro que el acuerdo fue con el corazón, con resultados dramáticos.

Uno de los ejemplos es la historia de Esther. En peligro de exterminio como consecuencia de la trama de Amán, los judíos oraron y ayunaron en unidad. El resultado fue que quedó Amán ahorcado en su propia horca y los judíos fueron salvos.

Otro ejemplo fue la liberación de Pedro de la prisión, seguido por la muerte de Herodes en Hechos 12. La Escritura nos dice que la Iglesia celebró una vigilia de oración por Pedro. Ellos oraron y ayunaron y Peter fue liberado.

Un tercer ejemplo es cuando los discípulos estaban en el aposento alto. Hechos 2:1 nos dice que, "todos unánimes esteban juntos..." La palabra griega traducida como "unánimes Juntos" significa "en la misma pasión". Con el acuerdo apasionado que habían estado buscando la promesa del Señor.

El mejor ejemplo en la Biblia es la historia de la victoria de Josafat en II Crónicas 20. Hay varias razones por las que recibido la respuesta que recibió. Cuando se enteró de los ejércitos invasores, Josafat proclamó un ayuno y oración nacional. Ni siquiera se toman el tiempo para considerar sus opciones. Se dirigió directamente a Dios con la oración y el ayuno unido. Todo el mundo ayunó y oraron con el acuerdo debido a las circunstancias y vemos que viene del corazón. También fue la oración de acuerdo con la voluntad de Dios.

HAY PODER EN NÚMEROS

Uno de los errores más grandes que los creyentes cometen es en pensar que "los números no importan". Hay muchas referencias en la Biblia que indican que los números son importantes. Los números si importan mucho, en particular cuando se trata de orar en unidad. La Biblia deja en claro que las oraciones hechas en unidad suelen ser mucho más efectivas que las oraciones ofrecidas por los individuos. Esto no quiere decir que Dios no responde a la oración de una persona. A gran escala, las respuestas son más dramáticas con frecuencia el resultado de muchos creyentes orando en unidad.

Hay un poco conocido principio espiritual que se encuentra en el libro de Levítico que sugiere que nuestro poder en la oración se multiplica cuando nuestros números aumentan. Este principio se aplica a Israel en guerra con sus enemigos. Los versículos claves son Levítico 26:7-8 "Cinco de vosotros perseguirán a Ciento, y ciento de vosotros perseguirán a diez mil."

Ciento persiguiendo a diez mil se requieren cinco veces la potencia relativa de cinco persiguiendo a ciento. Un principio de la aplicación de la doctrina del Antiguo Testamento a la vida de los creyentes es que lo que se aplica a los israelitas materialmente en los tiempos del Antiguo Testamento se aplica a la Iglesia espiritualmente ahora. Así que lo que se les aplica en términos de guerra material se aplica a nosotros en términos de la guerra espiritual. Debemos entender esto cuando oramos y ayunamos como iglesia.

Porque no podemos ver la guerra en marcha, realmente no entendemos exactamente lo que está sucediendo. Sólo hay un ejemplo en toda la Biblia que nos da una pista. Es la historia de Daniel durante su ayuno de tres semanas en el capítulo 10 de su libro. El Arcángel Gabriel estaba tratando de llegar a él con la respuesta a su oración, pero el "príncipe del reino de Persia", un poder demoníaco, lo estaba deteniendo. La persistencia de Daniel trajo la respuesta. Hay poderes demoníacos que trabajan para detener las respuestas a nuestras oraciones. Podemos reprender esos poderes cuando oramos en unidad.

La aplicación de este principio espiritual a la oración y el ayuno, nos encontramos con que si multiplicamos nuestros números en 20, multiplicamos nuestro poder relativo en la oración y el ayuno por cinco. No tendríamos que hacer esta multiplicación muchas veces antes de que nuestro poder relativo fuera mayor que todo el poder de Satanás. Considérese la siguiente tabla:

Cuando 100 creyentes oran en unidad, cada uno tiene 100 veces más poder relativo que al orar solo. Esto sugiere que tan sólo 100 creyentes ayunando y orando en unidad, y viviendo en obediencia a Dios puede ejercer el control espiritual sobre cual quera ciudad o nación. En teoría, esto debería ser fácil de lograr. Algunos de nosotros orando y ayunando en unidad podrían realmente hacer una diferencia en el mundo.

THERE IS POWER IN NUMBERS

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19-20)

Praying and fasting in unity is the most powerful spiritual weapon that God has given to us. Most believers have no idea just how powerful a spiritual weapon united prayer and fasting is. Of course, all believers believe that “prayer changes things” and that “there is power in prayer”. But most believers have no understanding of just how much prayer can change things or just how much power there really is in prayer. And especially not about united prayer and fasting.

THE BIBLICAL BASIS

In Matthew 18:19-20, Jesus made a statement that is the key to understanding the concept of united prayer and Fasting. The full significance of this has seldom been understood. God has given us the Kingdom, in the sense of His authority to rule. We do our ruling through prayer and it is in that sense we are kings, as in Revelation 1:6. It is because of this that we can get our prayers answered. We have authority with God. But as individuals, our authority is limited. It is unleashed only when we pray in unity.

We have unlimited power in prayer only when we pray in agreement with others. Our power increases dramatically when we act in unity. As Children of God, we are the Body of Christ. We achieve our full effectiveness when we act as a Body. And the way in which we can most overtly and directly do so is when we unite in prayer and fasting.

AGREE WITH GOD

We can’t be praying against God’s will. If we are, we better hope that our prayers don’t get answered. When God grants a petition contrary to His will, as He sometimes does, He does it as chastisement. One example of this is found in Numbers 11, where the people of Israel literally cried for meat, in a way that was blatant rejection of God’s will (He had already given them manna). He sent the meat, and with it a plague!

We must understand that the unity must be complete and real for this to take effect. The believers who are praying can’t just be agreeing with their lips; they must be agreeing with their hearts. There are several Biblical examples of cases where people united in prayer and fasting in circumstances that make it clear that the agreement was from the heart, with dramatic results.

One of the examples is the story of Esther. Threatened with extermination as a result of Haman’s plot, the Jews prayed and fasted in unity. The result was that Haman got hanged on his own gallows and the Jews were saved.

Another example was the release of Peter from prison, followed by the death of Herod in Acts 12. The Scripture tells us that the Church held a prayer vigil for Peter. They prayed and fasted and Peter was freed.

A third example is when the disciples were in the upper room. Acts 2:1 tells us that, “they were all with one accord...” The Greek word translated “one accord” means “in the same passion”. With passionate agreement they had been seeking the promise of the Lord.

The best example in the Bible is the story of Jehoshaphat’s victory in II Chronicles 20. There are several reasons why he got the answer he received. When he heard about the invading armies, Jehoshaphat proclaimed a national fast and prayer. He didn’t even take the time to consider his options. He went straight to God with united prayer and fasting. Everyone fasted and prayed with agreement due to the circumstances and we see that it came from the heart. It was also prayer in accordance with the will of God.

THE IS POWER IN NUMBERS

One of the biggest mistakes that believers make is to think that “numbers don’t matter”. There are many references in the Bible that indicate that numbers do matter. Numbers do matter very much in particular when it comes to praying in unity. The Bible makes it clear that prayers prayed in unity are usually far more effective than prayers offered by individuals. This is not to say that God does not answer the prayer of an individual. Large scale, dramatic answers are more frequently the result of many believers praying in unity.

There is a little known spiritual principle found in the book of Leviticus that suggests that our power in prayer multiplies as our numbers increase. That principle is applied to Israel at war with its enemies. The key verses are Leviticus 26:7-8 “And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight.”

A hundred putting ten thousand to flight requires five times the relative power of five chasing a hundred. A principle of applying Old Testament doctrine to Christian living is that what applied to the Israelites materially in the Old Testament times applies to the Church spiritually now. So what applied to them in terms of material warfare applies to us in terms of spiritual warfare. We must understand that when we pray and fast as a church body.

Because we can’t see the warfare going on, we don’t really understand just exactly what is happening. There is only one example in the entire Bible that gives us a clue. It is the story of Daniel during his three week fast in chapter 10 of his book. The Archangel Gabriel was trying to get through to him with the answer to his prayer, but the “prince of the kingdom of Persia”, a demonic power, was holding him back. Daniel’s persistence brought the answer. There are demonic powers working to hold back the answers to our prayers. We can drive those powers away when we pray in unity.

Applying this spiritual principle to prayer and fasting, we find that if we multiply our numbers by 20, we multiply our relative power in prayer and fasting by five. We wouldn’t have to do that multiplication many times before our relative power would be greater than all the power of Satan. Consider the following table:

When 100 believers pray in unity, each one has 100 times more relative power than he does when praying alone. This suggests that a mere 100 believers fasting and praying in unity, and living in obedience to God can exercise spiritual control over any city or country. In theory, this should be easy to achieve. A few of us praying and fasting together in unity could really make a difference in the world.

GUERRA ESPIRITUAL

"Pues aunque andamos en la carne, no militamos según la carne; porque las armas de nuestra milicia no son carnales, sino poderosas en Dios para la destrucción de fortalezas, derribando argumentos y toda altivez que se levanta contra el conocimiento de Dios, y llevando cautivo todo pensamiento a la obediencia a Cristo, y estando prontos para castigar toda desobediencia, cuando vuestra obediencia sea perfecta." II Corintios 10:3-6

LAS FRENTES DE LA BATALLA (Hay dos frentes de batalla para cada cristiano)

A. LA PROBLEMAS QUE NOSOTROS MISMOS CAUSAMOS

Estas problemas nos vienen por nuestra propia negligencia o indiferencia (no pagar sus cuentas; no tomando cuidado de su salud; no hacer mantenimiento en nuestro auto o casa).

B. PROBLEMAS Y BATALLAS QUE SON CAUSADOS POR SATANAS

El diablo usara cualquier cosa o persona que él pueda para hacernos batalla. Usara gente, tal como familiares, amigos, vecinos, compañeros de trabajo y aun extraños. Usara cosas. Como un trabajo, carro, aparatos mecánicos, el tiempo, música, libros, Televisión, etc.

Aunque Satanás usa cosas y gente, nuestro enemigo no es una persona especifica o la cosas que se está usando. Nuestro enemigo es el diablo.

C. ¡El diablo es un enemigo ya derrotado! Jesús lo derroto en la cruz. Pero nosotros necesitamos que apropiar los trabajos del Calvario en nuestras vidas diarias. Si podemos dominar la carne y sus deseos. ¡Podremos conquistar al diablo fácil! ¡Él sabe que no puede competir con el santo de Dios quien ha conquistado su propia vida y conoce a su Dios! Jesús dijo en San Lucas 10:19 “He aquí os doy potestad ({exousia} autoridad)… sobre toda fuerza ({dunamis} capacidad milagrosa) del enemigo…”

1. Efesios 6:11: “Vestíos de toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis estar firmes contra las asechanzas del diablo.”

2. ASECHANZAS: (Methodeias) Significa los medios, los varios medios, planes y esquemas usado por el diablo.

3. LUCHA (pale): Significa golpear, empujón, tirar con violencia e intensidad. Se refiere a la guerra en general entre los santos y espíritus malos que nos quieren destruir.

4. Así, vemos que nuestra batalla no es con carne y sangre (personas o cosas) pero una batalla espiritual con el enemigo de nuestras almas.

CUATRO TERMINOS PARA DESCRIBIR LOS ESPIRITUS CON LOS QUE LUCHAMOS

“Porque no tenemos lucha contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los gobernadores de las tinieblas de este siglo, contra huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes” (Efesios 6:12)

A. Pablo usa cuatro palabras descriptivas para hacernos comprender exactamente con que y con quien estamos peleando. Hay cuatro niveles:

1. PRINCIPADOS

Estos son los gobernantes principales o seres del nivel más alto y orden en el reino satánico. Cada nación tiene un principado sobre ella.

2. POTESTADES

Estos son esos quien deriven su poder de, y quien ejecuta la voluntad de los gobernantes principales (principados). Influencias sobrenaturales en el gobierno.

3. LOS GOBERNADORES DE LAS TINIEBLAS

Estos son los gobernantes en el mundo espiritual, o señores de la edad. Tal como la lascivia, depresión, miedo, perversión, etc. Estas pueden plagar a una persona personalmente (Efesios 2:2).

4. HUESTES ESPIRITUALES

Estos son los espíritus malos enviados por Satanás.

B. El diablo es, según Efesios 2:2: “…príncipe de la potestad del aire…”

C. En Apocalipsis 2:12-13: “… donde está el trono de Satanás… donde mora Satanás”, esto nos revela que la influencia satánica y control solo reside donde los hombres le han dado su voluntad y autoridad. Satanás no se deshizo del orden angélico de autoridad, pero lo guardo y lo usa donde los hombres le dan control. En esta manera ha ganado alguna medida de control de muchos gobiernos y sistemas mundiales. Recuerde esto, el dominio del enemigo es solo territorial. ¡No es el gobernador y controlador del mundo! La Biblia dice en Salmos 24:1: “De Jehová es la tierra y su plenitud; El mundo…”

LAS LIMITACIONES DE SATANAS

Satanás tiene muchas limitaciones. No es tan poderoso como muchos lo proclaman que es. El no es quien muchos piensan él es.

A. EL NO ESTA IGUAL CON DIOS

El fue lanzado del cielo por declararse igual con Dios. Fue el pecado original en el cielo. Lucifer se atrevió exaltarse para ser como Dios cuando él claramente no lo era.

B. ES UN ANGEL CAIDO

Está sujeto a las limitaciones de un ángel. Es equivalente a un ángel. 

C.  NO ES OMINIPOTENTE (Todo poderoso)

Solo Dios tiene todo el poder. El poder de Satanás está limitado por lo que Dios le permite hacer en la tierra. Él no puede hacer más ni menos (I Juan 4:4).

D. NO ES OMNISCIENTE (Todo lo sabe)

Aunque él no tiene el poder de Dios de  “saber todo,” si tiene más conocimiento que los humano. El ha estado estudiando lo hábitos de lo humanos por más de 6,000 años. Él está más consciente del fin del tiempo que nosotros. Él sabe que su tiempo es corto.

E. NO ES OMNIPRESENTE (Estar en todos lugares a la misma vez)

Dios llena el universo. Satanás está limitado a un lugar a la vez, porque es un ángel caído. Él pude  ir de un lugar a otro rápidamente como un ángel, pero no puede estar en dos lugares a la misma vez. Aquí es donde entra en juego el comando satánico. Él manda sus espíritus que vayan de aquí para allá para que hagan su voluntad.

F. EL NO CONOCE SUS PENSAMIENTOS NI PUEDE LEER SU MENDE

Usted puede orar en su mente (silenciosamente), o en El Espíritu (en lenguas), y él no puede saber lo que usted le está pidiendo a Dios o reprendiendo en su mente.

Él ni sabe si las tentaciones que pone en su mente están teniendo efecto a menos que usted los manifiesta exteriormente o medite en ellos. Cuando es tentado, comience a pensar buenos pensamientos, ore o alaba y adore a Dios etc. Los pensamientos malos huirán y la estrategia de Satanás es derrotada.

NO SOMOS IGNORANTE DE SUS MAQUINACIONES (II Corintios 2:11)

A. Satanás es un mentiroso y el padre de todo lo mentirosos. Toda mentira viene de él. Su mentira más grande es que él tiene poder sobre su vida, su familia, su trabajo, etc. ¡Esto no es verdad! Cuando entendemos sus mentiras, llegamos a ser más poderosos en nuestra lucha contra la maldad.

B. Él no puede tomar una ventaja sobre nosotros si conocemos sus trucos. ¿Cómo llegamos a conocer sus trucos? Leer en las Escrituras donde el  trato de tropezar a otros hombres y mujeres de Dios. Él todavía usa las mismas tácticas hoy.

LAS ARMAS DE NUESTRA MILICIA (II Corintios 10: 3-4)

¿Qué armas de guerra están a la disposición del Hijo de Dios?

A. EL NOMBRE DE JESUS

A la mención del nombre de Jesús el diablo tiembla. Tenemos poder de abogado. Se nos ha dado el derecho de usar Su nombre porque somos sus hijos y hemos sido bautizados en Su nombre (Hechos 2:38; Marcos 16:17, Lucas 10:17).

B. SU PODER (El Espíritu Santo) Y SU AUTORIDAD EN NOSOTROS

Lucas 10:19: “… He aquí os doy potestad (exousia/autoridad)…sobre toda fuerza (dunamis/capacidad milagrosa) del enemigo…” La palabra “poder” viene de la palabra griega “dunamis” (Hechos 1:8). De esta palabra griega se derribe la palabra “dinamita”.  Mateo 10:1: “Entonces llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera, y para sanar toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.”

C. ORACION Y AYUNO (Mateo 17:21)

Donde hay mucha oración y ayuno, hay mucho poder; donde hay porca oración y ayuno hay poco poder; donde no hay oración y ayuno no hay nada de poder. El diablo no puede contra un Hijo de Dios que ora y ayuna.

D. LA SANGRE DEL CORDERO (Apocalipsis 12:11)

SOMOS PARTE DE UNA IGLESIA PODEROSA (II Corintios 10:4-6)

A. DESTRUCCION DE FORTALEZAS

Le hacemos frente a las filosofías del día que compite por una fortaleza en sociedad. Esto incluye tales cosas como el Humanismo, la evolución, el aborto, la Edad Nueva, sistemas de valores inmorales, etc. Le hacemos frente a los dogmas y tradiciones de religiones de hombres

Le hacemos frente a pensamientos y actitudes de personas Ateas que piensan cambiar las leyes de nuestra nación a leyes y normas ante-Dios.

B. DERRIBANDO ARGUMENTOS

Desafiamos y tenemos la intención de destruir, mediante la oración, toda teoría, razonamiento, religión, mitología, metafísica, doctrinas sublimes, o la filosofía expuesta para dividir o desafiar el cocimiento de Dios.  

C. LLEVANDO CAUTIVO

Tomamos preso cada pensamiento y los llevamos en cautividad a obedecer a Cristo. Pensamientos lascivos, vanos y malos de todo tipo, son derribados y hechos obedientes a la ley de Dios. Que incluyen todo pensamiento que esta contrario a la virtud, pureza y rectitud.

D. TENIENDO UNA PRONTIDUD

Estamos listos a todo tiempo para purgar a cualquier cosa oponiéndose a la Palabra de Dios.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." II Corinthians 10:3-6

BATTLE FRONTS (There are two battle-fronts for every Christian)

A. Self-inflicted or self perpetuated problems.

These problems are brought on by our own negligence or indifference (i.e.—not paying your bills; not taking care of your health; not doing proper maintenance on your auto or home.)

B. Satanic-inflicted or satanic- perpetuated problems and battles.

The devil will use anything or anyone he can to do spiritual battle with you. He will use people, such as family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, even strangers. He will use things, such as a job, car, mechanical devices, weather, music, books, TV, etc.

Though Satan uses people and things our enemy is not the specific person or the things being used, the enemy is the devil.

C. The devil is already a defeated foe! Jesus took care of him for us. But we do need to appropriate the works of Calvary in our daily lives. If we can ever master the flesh and its desires, the conquest of the devil is a snap! He is, and knows that he is, no match for the saint of God who has conquered their self-life and knows their God! Jesus said in Luke 10:19 "…..Behold, I give you power (exousia/authority)……over all power (dunamis/miraculous ability) of the enemy……"

1. Ephesians 6:11: “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”.

2. Wiles - Methodius (Greek) Meaning methods, the various means, plans and schemes used by the devil.

3. Wrestle - pale (Greek) meaning to strike, thrust, throw with violence and intensity. It refers to the warfare in general between the saints and evil spirits out to destroy us.

4. So, we see that our battle is not with flesh and blood (persons or things) but a spiritual battle with the enemy of our soul.

FOUR TERMS TO DESCRIBE THE SPIRITS WE BATTLE (Ephesians 6:12) 

A. Paul uses four descriptive words to make us understand exactly what and who we are fighting with. As you can see, there are four levels of spiritual warfare.

1. PRINCIPALITIES

These are the Chief rulers or beings of the highest rank and order in the satanic kingdom. Every single nation in the world has a principality over it.

2. POWERS

These are those who derive their power from and who execute the will of the chief rulers (principalities) Supernatural influences in government.

3. RULERS OF THE DARKNESS

These are the spirit-world rulers, or lords of the age. Such as lust, depression, fear, perversion, etc. These may plague a person personally. (Ephesians 2:2)

4. SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS

These are the wicked spirits sent by Satan.

B. The devil is, according to Ephesians 2:2 "…the prince of the power of the air…”

C. In Revelation 2:12-13 "…Satan’s seat…..where Satan dwelleth…." reveals to us that satanic influence and control only resides where men have given him their will and authority to exercise. Satan did not do away with the angelic order of authority, but kept it and uses it where men give him control. In this manner he has gained some measure of control of many world systems and governments. Remember this; the enemy’s domain is only territorial. He is not the ruler and controller of the world! The Bible says in Psalms 24:1 "….The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof."

SATAN’S LIMITATIONS

Satan has many limitations. He is not as powerful as many proclaim him to be. He is not who many think he is.

A. HE IS NOT EQUAL WITH GOD

Satan was cast out of heaven for declaring himself equal with God. It was the original sin in heaven. Lucifer dared to exalt himself to be like God when he clearly was not.

B. HE IS A FALLEN ANGEL

He is subject to the limitations of an angel. He is equivalent to an angel.

C. HE IS NOT OMNIPOTENT (all powerful)

Only God has all power. Satan’s power is limited by what God allows him to do in the earth. He can do no more or no less (I John 4:4).

D. HE IS NOT OMNISCIENT (all knowing)

Though he does not have the "all knowing" power of God, he does have more knowledge than mere humanity. He has been studying humanity’s habits for 6,000 years. He is more aware of the end of time than we are. He knows that his time is short.

E. HE IS NOT OMNIPRESENT (all places at once)

God fills the universe. Because Satan is a fallen angel he is limited to one place at a time. He can go from place to place as swiftly as an angel, but he cannot be in two places at once. This is where satanic command comes into play. He orders spirits to go to and fro doing his will.

F. HE CANNOT KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS OR READ YOUR MIND

You can pray in your mind (silently), or in the spirit (in tongues), and he cannot know what you are asking God or rebuking in your mind.

He doesn’t even know if the temptations he drops in your mind are working unless you manifest them outwardly or dwell on them. When you are tempted, start thinking good thoughts, pray, think of a worship chorus, etc. The evil thoughts will flee and Satan’s strategy is defeated.

 WE’RE NOT IGNORANT OF HIS DEVICES (II Corinthians 2:11)

A. Satan is a liar and the father of all liars. All lies come from him. His biggest lie is that he has power over you, your life, your family, your job, etc. This is not true! As we understand his lies, we become more powerful in our fight against evil.

B. He cannot get an advantage over us if we know his tricks. How do we learn his tricks? Reading in the scripture where he tried to trip up other men and women of God. He still uses the same tactics today.

THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE

What weapons of warfare are at the disposal of the child of God?

A. HIS NAME

At the sound of the name of Jesus the devil trembles. We have power of attorney. We have been given the right to use His name because we are his children and have been baptized in His name (Mark 16:17; Luke 10:17)

B HIS POWER (Holy Ghost) AND AUTHORITY IN US

Luke 10:19 "…..Behold, I give you power (exousia/authority)………over ALL power (dunamis/miraculous ability) of the enemy……"

The word “power” comes from the Greek word DUNAMIS (Acts 1:8). From that Greek word we get the word “DYNAMITE”.

Matthew 10:1 “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”

C. PRAYER AND FASTING (Matthew 17:21)

Where there is much prayer, there is much power; where there is little prayer, there is little power; where there is no prayer, there is no power at all. The devil can’t handle a child of God who prays and fasts.

YOU ARE PART OF A POWERFUL CHURCH (II Corinthians 10:4-6)

 A. DESTRUCTION OF STRONGHOLDS

We stand against the philosophies of the day which are competing for a stronghold in society. This includes such things as Humanism, evolution, abortion, New Age, immoral value systems, etc. We stand against the dogma and tradition of manmade religion.

We stand against the thinking and attitudes of Godless people who intend to change the laws of our nation to anti-God laws and standards.

B. CASTING DOWN IMAGINATIONS

We defy and intend to destroy, through prayer, all theory, reasoning, religion, mythology, metaphysics, sublime doctrines, or philosophy set forth to divide or defy the knowledge of God.

C. BRINGING INTO CAPTIVITY

We take every thought prisoner and lead it into captivity to obey Christ. Lascivious, vain and evil thoughts of all kinds are brought down and made obedient to the law of God. This includes all thinking which is contrary to virtue, purity and righteousness.

D. HAVING A READINESS

We stand at all times ready to purge anything opposing the Word of God.
