ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE

Revelation 20:5-9

Does the Bible, which is God’s absolute truth, prove the existence or the coming of zombies in reality? The Bible has no reference to corpses being reanimated and existing in a continuing state of decomposition. Zechariah 14:12 is often referenced as foretelling an impending zombie apocalypse: "And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths.” The word plague, translated from the Hebrew word maggephah, literally means "pestilence"—a sickness. Given today’s war tactics, it is entirely plausible that this verse describes biological warfare, or it could be a special plague designed by God just for this circumstance. Whatever the case, a judgment that rots the living flesh from the bones and the fluid from the eyeballs is horrifying, but it does not indicate a zombie apocalypse.

Long before the introduction of “The Night Of The Living Dead”, there was the zombie. The word zombie actually is a West African word meaning Nzambi, which is an African name of a deity god, Nzambi - the god of the dead. It is this particular deity, or “god” which is based on occult worship whereby Nzambi rules the living as well as the dead. Yet the term zombie goes even further back from the West African tribes, to a darker reality – Satan. The origin for a zombie is found in a spirit deity who took the form of a python, it is this character which influenced the West African tribes and Nzambi and ultimately is how this whole phenomenon began. It is this occult practice that can be found in the jungles of Africa as well as Haiti, which gives us its true meaning.

The characteristics of zombies are simple to understand, in modern terminology, the zombie is a dead human that either through a plague, virus, or other means, becomes reanimated and begins its quest to hunt other living human beings. This action involves the dead human (zombie) to hunt, then eat (cannibalism) its victim alive, and what’s left, then becomes infected, such as a bite or scratch to the flesh from the infected creature, which then “turns” the living person into a “walker”.

Here’s the trouble with zombies, the whole concept is not about entertainment to be lost in a world of fantasy, but it’s based on the past actions of the occult world found in remote places of society. The entire zombie history is traced back to ancient “gods” or spirit, which in reality are nothing more than demonic spirits. It is these demonic spirits which induced people in ancient countries to partake in human sacrifice, the spilling of blood as an appeasement to their god. Voodoo and other rites, including witchcraft, are the founders of where we get the whole zombie concept. It’s based on occult rituals and nothing more.

It was believed that zombies could be made by poisoning people with tetrodotoxin, the poisonous substance found in pufferfish (family Tetraodontidae). The poison would be administered and make the victim appear dead, and due to the climate in Africa and Haiti which would lead to a rotting corpse within days, if not hours, burial would be swift, often without checking if the body was actually dead. Following this, voodoo magicians would find and exhume the body, reviving it to a zombie-like state, possibly with the help of datura, the so-called "zombie cucumber."

Christians should remove themselves from this whole genre and leave it alone. When someone watches something of this nature, its entire message is one of evil. The dead hunting the living, it is in fact a most sincerest form of demonic representation of the enemy (Satan) who desires to eat and devour those whom he can. Again, it all goes back to the occult. From the dead’s blood lust to cannibalism, it takes its very roots from the dark demonic world of the occult, where people partook of this activity even though it was forbidden by God. That’s why the depictions of zombies chasing and devouring human beings are made to be gruesome because it is. Everything one see in a zombie movie or on TV, is a fulfillment of the occult, the viewer is actually seeing the occult ritual being played out right on the screen.

God makes clear His views on all of this: “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.”  (Deuteronomy 18:9-12)

There is no place for such entertainment in the life of a believer. The reality is that while the zombie craze is enticing many young people in this particular horror genre, the reality is darker and more alarming when we examine everything with scripture. Zombies, like vampires, like ghouls, like werewolves, and other popular horror icons, represent the darkness of Satan’s kingdom and one which the Christians need not have anything to do with, even if it seems harmless, the spirit behind it is not. 

The trouble with zombies is it’s demonic. It is now clearer how dangerous opening oneself to demonic influence can be. There are no limits to the depravity of human behavior when someone is disconnected from any Godly influence. While the idea of a Zombie Apocalypse seems farfetched, a better question is examining your own spiritual state. The Bible says: “And you, being dead in your sins...hath he quickened [given life] together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;” (Colossians 2:13-14)

What is the meaning of “The Zombie Apocalypse” that we can understand from the Bible view? Final Judgment is a “Zombie Apocalypse” in the Bible.  After the 1000 years, Satan and all the damned are let out of the abyss.  They rise as the “living dead”.  Satan gathers them all, and they converge to attack Jerusalem.  It’s a literal “Zombie Apocalypse” Revelation 20:1-2. Here we see the damned emerging from hell and from their graves globally to join Satan for the “Zombie Apocalypse”. They come out of their graves to be gathered by Satan to march against Jerusalem (Rev. 20:5 -9).

The damned of all ages will come back from the dead, as the living dead, to march with Satan against Jerusalem in a “Zombie Apocalypse” in the Final Armageddon after the 1000 year reign of Christ.

 

ÉSTE ES EL DIA DE GRACIAS

“Cantad alegres a Dios, habitantes de toda la tierra. Servid a Jehová con alegría; Venid ante su presencia con regocijo. Reconoced que Jehová es Dios; El nos hizo, y no nosotros a nosotros mismos; Pueblo suyo somos, y ovejas de su prado. Entrad por sus puertas con acción de gracias, Por sus atrios con alabanza; Alabadle, bendecid su nombre. Porque Jehová es bueno; para siempre es su misericordia, Y su verdad por todas las generaciones.” (Salmos 100)

“Si Jehová no edificare la casa, En vano trabajan los que la edifican; Si Jehová no guardare la ciudad, En vano vela la guardia.” (Palmos 127:1)

En el Día de Gracias, el presidente de los Estados Unidos llamara a todas las personas de este país a orad. Es quizás irónico que mientras que nuestra Constitución prohíbe el establecimiento de religión hay tiempos cuando aparece aceptable que el más alto oficial elegido de nuestra nación dirija a la gente en oración. Esto es especialmente evidente en la consecuencias del ataque terrorista del 11 de Septiembre, que inspiro muchas oraciones en lugares públicos dirigidas por muchos oficiales elegidos. Cuando piensa en ello, El Día de Gracias es único, entre las fiestas de nuestra nación en poner un acto de oración afronta y centro que todo. A ser seguro, este mensaje no es comunicado siempre muy claramente.

A veces parece que el Día de Gracias es nuestro momento de más auto felicitación. Mientras las familias se reúnen alrededor de sus mesas llenas de tantas cosas buenas para comer, ¿es el verdadero propósito de esta fiesta para catalogar todos nuestros éxitos, para enumerar nuestros logros, para disfrutar nuestra fortuna buena que vivimos en la nación mas rica y mas poderosa en todo el mundo? ¿O hay algo más profundo llamándonos dentro de la llamada singular de esta nación a orar?

Hubo una señora que abordo un autobús. Todos los asientos estaban ocupados. Estaba cansada y llevaba varios paquetes. Un hombre que estaba sentado vio el dilema de la señora y se levanto y cortésmente le ofreció su asiento. La señora fue tan asombrada por lo que el hombre hizo que se desmayó. Después de que revivió, miró al hombre quien le había ofrecido su asiento y le dijo, “gracias.” Cuando el hombre oyó esto el inmediatamente se desmayó.

El punto de esta historia cómica es que, hoy en día no hay mucha gente que toman el tiempo para decir “gracias.” Esto es una tristeza, porque el agradecimiento es bueno para el alma.

La Biblia enseña que una actitud de agradecimiento junta el cielo y la tierra; mientras que, una actitud desagradecida mantiene el cielo y la tierra, lo espiritual y lo material, separado. Cuando estamos agradecidos, reconocemos que la comida, la vivienda, y todas las otras necesidades vienen a nosotros por  la misericordia de Dios Omnipotente. El agradecimiento dirige nuestros corazones hacia al cielo. El agradecimiento es una de las cosas que nos eleva sobre el nivel de las bestias.  

Muchos piensan del Día de Gracias como un tiempo para celebrar una vacación de la escuela y de comer mucho. O, quizás piensan que es el comienzo de la temporada festiva de Navidad. ¿Que es el significado verdadero detrás del Día de Gracias?

Se supone que el Día de Gracias es uno de nuestras fiestas nacionales principales. Una buena pregunta es, “¿Estamos celebrando el Día de Gracias en la manera que Dios quiere que lo celebremos? ¿Hemos perdido el énfasis del Día de Gracias y lo hemos cambiado por una fiesta de glotonería de comida, bebida y juegos de fútbol? Mucha gente hoy en día se refieren a esta fiesta como “el día del pavo” en lugar del Día de Gracias. Muchos han eliminado el objeto del quien le estamos ofreciendo nuestro agradecimiento. Tenemos que solamente sentirnos agradecidos, se nos dice. ¿Pero a quien deberíamos dirigir nuestros agradecimientos? Se debe dirigir el objeto de nuestro agradecimiento a Dios por nuestras muchas bendiciones. No debería ser simplemente un agradecimiento en general. ¿A quien, y por que somos agradecidos en el Día de Gracias?

Podemos seguir ésta histórica tradición cristiana, desde el año 1623. En Noviembre del año 1623, después de levantar la cosecha, el gobernador de la colonia de peregrinos en Plymouth, Massachussets, declaró: “Todos ustedes, peregrinos, con sus esposas e hijos, congréguense en la casa comunal, en la colina… para escuchar al pastor, y dar gracias a Dios todo poderoso por todas sus bendiciones.”

Este es el origen de nuestra celebración anual del Día de Gracias. El Congreso de los Estados Unidos ha proclamado Días Nacionales de Acción de Gracias a Dios en muchas ocasiones a través de los años. En el  primer día de Noviembre de 1777, por orden del Congreso, se firmo la primera Proclamación de Acción de Gracias Nacional, proclamando el tercer jueves de Diciembre como el día oficial de dar gracias. El día primero de Enero de 1795 George Washington, proclamo que el día oficial de Dar Gracias era el día  jueves, el 19 de Febrero, de 1795. Muchos años después, el 3 de Octubre de 1863, Abraham Lincoln proclamo, por acto del Congreso, un Día Nacional de Acción de Gracias anual en el ultimo jueves de Noviembre.

Este jueves celebraremos esta fiesta Nacional, ¿Pero, lo vamos a celebrar en la manera correcta? No debemos olvidar que el propósito principal de este día es para orar, y de dar gracias y no solo para comer y compañerismo. Dios no esta en contra de que hagamos una cena grande ni que nos juntemos con nuestros amigos y familia para comer juntos, pero si nuestra única oración es para pedir que Dios bendiga la comida que vamos a comer, ¿no estamos olvidando el significado verdadero de este día? Dios se deleita en bendecidnos como Su hijos. Sin embargo, ¿Nosotros como Sus hijos, nos deleitamos en bendecidlo con nuestras oraciones y acciones de gracias? ¿Se enfoca nuestras celebraciones alrededor de la comida y los juegos de fútbol, que alrededor de la discusión de que cosas deberíamos estar agradecido? Muchos rinden culto al ídolo de juegos de fútbol en este día de fiesta en lugar de enfocar en el significado verdadero del Día de Gracias. Pidámosle a Dios que nos perdone y en verdad celebremos este día con verdadera acción de gracias y oración.

En este Día de Gracias queremos dar gracias. En este Día de Gracias queremos unir el mundo material al mundo espiritual. En este Día de Gracias queremos dedicar a Dios, lo que se nos ha dado. ¿Cómo podemos hacer esto?:

Primero de todo, debemos agradecer a Dios por la vida. Él nos ha hecho y nos ha formado. Sólo por Él vivimos y nos movemos y tenemos nuestra existencia. Sólo en Él tenemos la habilidad para pensar y disfrutar y responder y maravillar. Sólo en Él podemos saltar y correr y jugar y aprender. Sólo en Él podemos comer y dormir y amar. Así que agradecemos a Dios por la vida.

Segundo, debemos agradecer a Dios por la salud. Muchos de nosotros hemos sufrido problemas de la salud en este año. Parece que cuando enfrentamos enfermedades que apreciamos mas la salud y fortaleza.

Tercero, Debemos agradecer a Dios por proveer nuestras necesidades físicas. Sí, algunos de nosotros podíamos tener mas cosas o cosas mejores; aun así, tenemos comida, ropa sobre nuestros cuerpos, un tejado sobre nuestras cabezas, y un carro en el garaje. Estas son cosas materiales comunes, pero no vienen por casualidad. Sabemos que son regalos de Dios. Debemos recordarnos que en muchos lugares alrededor del mundo muy pocos gente se atreven a tomar estas bendiciones comunes por supuesto.

Cuarto, también debemos agradecer a Dios por nuestras familias. Para unas personas es doloroso recordar relaciones familiares que fueron rotas por la muerte o el  divorcio. Pero aun mientras sentimos el pesar podemos ser agradecidos por esos quien nos sostiene y nos aman todavía. Nuestras familias son preciosas. El Día de Gracias es un tiempo que los maridos deben agradecer a Dios por sus esposas, y que las esposas agradezcan  a Dios por sus maridos; y que los padres e hijos agradezcan a Dios por el uno y el otro;  y que todos demos gracias a Dios por el compañerismo de nuestros amigos.

Quinto, y más importante, debemos agradecer a Dios por su gracia y salvación. Dios nos ha bendecido con toda forma de bendición espiritual. Nos ha tomado, que éramos perdidos en el pecado y maldad y nos ha renovado para ser como Cristo. Ha quitado de nosotros el miedo del juicio y del infierno eterno.

Hay tiempos, por supuesto, cuando todos somos tentados a sentirnos desagradecido. En tales tiempos es bueno contemplar sobre las cosas buenas que Dios ha hecho por nosotros. Le voy a dar esta sugerencia: Tome tiempo y escriba en una tarjeta pequeña, que pueda caber en su cartera, diez cosas grandes que Dios ha hecho por usted. Entonces, cuando es tentado a sentirse desagradecido, saque esa tarjeta y comienza a pensar en las misericordias que ha apuntado. Pensando en las provisiones pasadas de Dios, se alentara, confiando en Su poder para proveer y protegerlo en el presente.

Un hombre que tenía una propiedad pequeña quería venderla. Mando a llamar un agente de bienes raíces, le pidió que escribiera un anuncio describiendo su casa y terreno. Cuando el anuncio estaba listo, el agente se lo llevo al dueño y se lo leyó. “Léame lo otra vez,” le dijo el dueño.

El agente leyó la descripción de la propiedad una vez más.  “No pienso que lo voy a vender,” le dijo el dueño. “¡He buscado una propiedad como esa toda me vida y no sabia que lo poseía!”

Cuenta sus bendiciones, si, pero comienza por pediéndole  a Dios que le abra los ojos para ver las muchas bendiciones y cosas que Él le ha dado. Eso cambiara toda su perspectiva entera y le habilitara para alabar y agradecer a Dios siempre.

        

  

 

          

THIS IS THANKSGIVING

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100

“Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it; except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Ps. 127:1

On Thanksgiving Day, the President of the United States will call the people of this country to prayer. It is perhaps ironic that while our Constitution forbids the establishment of religion there are times when it appears perfectly acceptable for the nation's highest elected official to lead the people in prayer. This is especially apparent in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks which inspired so much prayer in public places led by so many elected officials. When you think about it, Thanksgiving is unique among the nation's holidays in placing an act of prayer, front and center. To be sure, this message is not always communicated very clearly. 

It sometimes seems that Thanksgiving is our most self-congratulatory moment. As families gather around their tables filled with so many good things to eat, is the real purpose of this holiday to catalog all our success, to list our achievements, to enjoy our good fortune that we happen to live in the richest and the most powerful nation in the world?  Or is there something deeper calling to us from within this nation's singular call to prayer? 

There was a woman who boarded a bus. Every seat was filled. She was tired and carried several packages. Noticing her dilemma, a certain man stood up and graciously offered his seat to the woman. The woman was so shocked by what the man did that she fainted. After she was revived, she looked up at the man who had relinquished his seat and said, "Thank you." When the man heard this he promptly fainted.

The point of this humorous story is that many people don't bother saying "thank-you" anymore. This is sad because thankfulness is good for the soul.

The Bible teaches that a thankful attitude joins heaven and earth; whereas, an ungrateful attitude keeps heaven and earth, the spiritual and the material, separate. When we are thankful, we recognize that food, shelter, and all other necessities come to us because of the mercy of Almighty God. Thankfulness turns our hearts towards heaven. Thankfulness is one of the things that lifts us above the level of the beasts.

Many Americans think of Thanksgiving as a wonder full time to celebrate getting out of school for a long weekend and eating a big meal. Or, maybe they think it is the start of the Christmas holiday season. What is the real meaning behind Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is supposed to be one of our main national holidays. A good question to ask is “¿Are we celebrating Thanksgiving the way that God wants us to celebrate it?” Have we lost the emphasis of thanksgiving and shifted it to a gluttonous feast of food, drink, and football games?  Many people today refer to this holiday as "turkey day" instead of Thanksgiving Day. Many people have eliminated the object of who we are to offer our thanks. We are just to be "thankful" we are told. But to whom should our thanks be directed? The object of our thanks for our many blessings should be directed to God. It should not just be a general "thanks." To whom, and for what are we thankful on Thanksgiving Day?

We can trace this historic American Christian tradition to the year 1623. After the harvest crops were gathered in November 1623, Governor William Bradford of the Pilgrim Colony, “Plymouth Plantation” in Plymouth, Massachusetts proclaimed: “All ye pilgrims with your wives and little ones, do gather at the Meeting House, on the hill… there to listen to the pastor, and render Thanksgiving to the Almighty God for all His blessings.”

This is the origin of our annual Thanksgiving Day celebration. The Congress of the United States has proclaimed National Days of Thanksgiving to God many times throughout the years. On November 1, 1777, by order of Congress, the first National Thanksgiving Proclamation was signed proclaiming the third Thursday of December as the official day of thanksgiving. On January 1, 1795, George Washington, proclaimed Thursday, the 19th day of February, as the National Day of Thanksgiving. Many years later, on October 3, 1863, Abraham Lincoln proclaimed, by an act of Congress, an annual National Day of Thanksgiving on the last Thursday of November.

This Thursday we will celebrate this national holiday, but are we going to celebrate it in the right manner? We must not forget that the main purpose of this day is for prayer and thanksgiving, and not only feasting and fellowship. God is not opposed to our feasting and our gathering of friends and family to eat together, ¿But if our only prayer is to ask God to bless the food that we are going to eat, Are we not forgetting the real meaning of this day? God delights in blessing us as His children. However, do we, as His children delight in blessing Him with our prayers and thanks? Dose our celebrations revolve more around the meal and the football games that follow, than around the discussion of the things we should be thankful for? Many are worshipping the idol of ball games on holidays instead of focusing on the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Let us ask God to forgive us and truly celebrate this day in real thanksgiving and prayer.

On this Thanksgiving Day, we want to give thanks. On this Thanksgiving Day, we want to join the material world to the spiritual. On this Thanksgiving Day, we want to dedicate to God what has been given to us. How do we go about doing this?

First of all, we should thank God for life. He has made us and formed us. Only in Him do we live and move and have our being. Only in Him do we have the ability to think and enjoy and respond and wonder. Only in Him can we jump and run and play and learn. Only in Him can we eat and sleep and love. So we thank God for life.

Second, we should thank God for health. Many of you have suffered health problems throughout this year. It seems that it is only when we face sickness that we appreciate health and strength.

Third, we should thank God for providing for our physical needs. Yes, some of us could have more things or better things; even so, we have food, clothes on our bodies, and a roof over our heads, and a car in the garage. These are common material things, but they do not come by chance. We know they are gifts from the Giver above. We should remember that in many places around the world very few people dare to take these common blessings for granted.

Fourth, we should also thank God for our families. For some people, it is painful to remember family relationships broken by death or divorce. But even as we feel such grief, we can be thankful for those who uphold us and love us still. Our families are precious. Thanksgiving is a time for husbands to thank Almighty God for their wives, and for wives to thank God for their husbands; for parents and children to thank God for each other; for all of us to thank God for the companionship of friends.

Fifth, and most importantly, we should thank God for grace and salvation. God has blessed us with every sort of spiritual blessing. He has taken us who were lost in sin and evil and renewed us to be like Jesus. He has removed from us the fear of judgment and everlasting hellfire.

There are times, of course, when we all are tempted to feel ungrateful. At such times it is good for you to contemplate the good things God has done for you. May I offer this suggestion: take time this week to write on a card small enough to fit into your wallet, 10 great things God has done for you! Then, whenever you are tempted to feel ungrateful, pull out that card and start thinking about the mercies you have written down. By thinking about God's past provision, you'll be encouraged to trust in His power to provide and protect in the present.

A man who owned a small property wanted to sell it. Sending for a real estate agent, he asked him to write an advertisement describing the house and land. When the ad was ready, the agent took it to the owner and read it to him. "Read that again," said the owner.

The agent read the description of the property once more. "I don't think I will sell it after all," said the owner. "I have been looking for a property like that all my life and I did not know that I owned it!"

Count your blessings – yes, but start by asking God to open your eyes to see the many blessings and things God has given to you. That will change your entire perspective and enable you to praise and thank God always.

 

 

 

 

TATUAJES: LA TINTA IMPÍA

“Y no haréis rasguños en vuestro cuerpo por un muerto, ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna. Yo Jehová.”(Levítico 19:28)

Dios les dio esta advertencia a los israelitas antes de que entraran en Canaán y en la tierra que se les prometió como herencia. Hizo esto porque iban a una tierra llena de personas que no lo adoraban y que usaban una variedad de métodos (ídolos, marcas en su cuerpo, etc.) para adorar u honrar a sus deidades paganas. Dios no quería que su pueblo se contaminara persiguiendo a estas deidades falsas o adoptando costumbres paganas y usándolas para adorarlo.

Con la creciente popularidad de los tatuajes, muchos cristianos se preguntarán: ¿La Biblia prohíbe este tipo de dibujo corporal? Sé que algunos tendrán dificultades para recibir esta enseñanza porque el tatuaje se ha convertido en una práctica aceptada en nuestra sociedad. Sin embargo, solo porque la sociedad aprueba algo no lo hace correcto a los ojos de Dios.

Los tatuajes tienen sus "raíces" en la brujería. Hoy en día, muchos jóvenes están haciendo estas mismas cosas debido a algunas influencias de la brujería en sus vidas que desconocen. No se dan cuenta de que participar de estos puede abrir la puerta a influencias malas y contaminantes en sus vidas.

Levítico 19:28 es la pesadilla mas peor del tatuador cristiano y del portador de tatuaje. Dios claramente y sin una duda condena el tatuaje; “Y no haréis rasguños en vuestro cuerpo por un muerto, ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna. Yo Jehová.” ¿Podría estar un poco más claro?

Esta declaración clara de la Palabra de Dios no  resuelve nada para esta generación de cristianos desobedientes, carnales y mundanos. En lugar de obedecer a Dios, ellos van a grandes longitudes para justificar su abierta desobediencia a la palabra de Dios. ¿Cómo le rodean a Levítico 9:28?  Evidentemente, ahí está. “Y no haréis… ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna…” Muchos Cristianos cuando se  enfrenta con Levítico 19:28, dicen, “Oye, esto no es para hoy. Eso es el Antiguo Testamento. Estamos bajo el Nuevo Testamento.”

Algunas personas se oponen al uso de las escrituras del Antiguo Testamento como referencia a los tatuajes, ya que el Nuevo Testamento no habla de estas cosas. Sin embargo, en el Nuevo Testamento, incluso somos llamados a una ley superior. Debemos tener las leyes de Dios escritas en nuestro corazón. Cuando permanecemos cerca del Señor y le obedecemos, Él puede dirigirnos en cosas que no son buenas para nosotros. Por ejemplo, aunque la Biblia no dice: "No fumarás" o "La adicción a las drogas es mala para ti"; sabemos que estas cosas son destructivas para el cuerpo humano. En el Nuevo Testamento, se nos dice que glorifiquemos a Dios en nuestro cuerpo. Esto incluiría no estropear nuestros cuerpos con tatuajes, ya que los principios de la Biblia nos dicen claramente que está mal contaminar nuestros cuerpos.

¿Era la bestialidad (sexo con un animal) sólo prohibido en la Ley Levítica del Antiguo Testamento (Levíticos 18:23, 20:15-16? ¿Significa esto que un Dios Santo ahora, según el Nuevo Testamento, aprueba la bestialidad? Levítico 19:29, es el único lugar en la Biblia donde Dios directamente prohíbe a alguien de prostituir su hija. ¿Ya que, sólo está en la Ley Levítica del Antiguo Testamento  y no estamos bajo la ley, es aceptado por Dios que los padres prostituyan a su hija hoy? Hay muchas otras 'leyes morales que sólo están prohibidas en el Antiguo Testamento, tal como el sacrificio humano de niños. No hay ningún lugar en el Nuevo Testamento donde esto está prohibido. ¿Significa esto que ahora según el Nuevo Testamento, Dios aprueba el arrojar bebés en el fuego como un sacrificio humano? Este es la misma línea de razonamiento y la misma perversión de la Palabra de Dios.

El Comentario de Matthew Henry a principios de Levítico 19 explica que la mayor parte de Levítico 19 (como el verso 19:28) son mandamientos morales que se aplica no sólo a Israel, pero para el cristiano de hoy. “Hay algunos preceptos ceremoniosos en este capítulo, pero la mayor parte de ellos son morales... La mayor parte de estos preceptos nos prenden, ya que ellas son exposiciones de la mayor parte de los Diez Mandamientos.” (El Comentario de Matthew Henry de toda la Biblia entera, Levítico 19:28)

La excusa favorita para desobedecer Levítico 19:28 es; "esto significa, ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna para los muertos". Está bien, siempre y cuando no es para los muertos". ¿Está bien la práctica de la sangría satánica, la automutilación o el recorte de la carne mientras no es para los muertos? ¿Esto está en el mismo verso? Note también, la frase “para los muertos” sólo se refiere “a los recortes en su carne”. La condena “ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna” no es calificada por la frase “para los muertos”. También, si usted notará que el verso claramente dice “cualquier señal”.

El Diccionario de la Biblia de Unger bajo la definición de “Marca” incluye la siguiente referencia para Levítico 19:28: “En Levítico 19:28 encontramos dos prohibiciones de una desfiguración antinaturales del cuerpo: "Y no haréis rasguños en vuestro cuerpo por un muerto, ni imprimiréis en vosotros señal alguna." Esta última (Heb. Qa acw, incisión) se refiere a el tatuaje, y no tiene ninguna referencia a usos idólatras, sino que estaba destinada a inculcar a los Israelitas una reverencia apropiada para la creación de Dios.” (Merrill F. Unger, El Diccionario de la Biblia de Unger, 1974 ed., p. 696) Observe que los tatuajes estaban prohibidas sin referencia alguna a paganos, barbaros o usos idólatras. En otras palabras, el tatuaje, en sí mismo, sin importar la razón, estaba prohibido.

La Enciclopedia de la Biblia de Wycliffe 1975 ed., p. 1664 bajo la definición de tatuaje claramente dice: “Mientras “el recorte en la carne” tienen referencia aquí a costumbres de luto [para los muertos], el tatuaje no parece pertenecer a tal práctica.”

 El Nuevo Comentario Americano de Levítico 19:28 declara; la condena fue por “cortar el cuerpo ya sea por los muertos o con marcas de tatuaje.” (Mark F. Rooker, El Nuevo Comentario Americano de Levítico, 2000 ed., p. 262) Reconociendo explícitamente que el tatuaje no era “para los muertos.”

¿Ves que deshonesto y desobediente, es decir, "no se aplica a nosotros porque no estamos bajo la ley"? Encuentra lo que no te gusta en la Palabra de Dios, recórtelo o mal aplícalo. Estas son las mismas tácticas utilizadas por las sectas satánicas y herejes tras los años. Usted puede probar cualquier cosa con tales métodos fraudulentos.

Uno de los argumentos más tontos e infantiles que algunos usan para justificar el uso de tatuajes es la siguiente: “¿Usted se corta su pelo o recorta su barba? Dios condena que se corte el pelo o recortar su barba en el versículo antes de prohibir el tatuaje. El tatuaje es lo mismo que cortarse el pelo.” Créanlo o no, este es un argumento extensamente usado.

Levítico 19:26-28 es una clara condena de prácticas paganas y brujería. Mire el contexto. El verso 26 se refiere claramente al “encanto [hechizos o brujería] ni adivinos [la astrología]…El versículo 28 es la practica demoníaca,  pagana, de la sangría [recortes en su carne] y el tatuaje. ¿Por qué pondría el Señor un versículo, en medio, que “condena simplemente el cortarse el pelo?” Por supuesto, Él no lo haría…Y Él no lo hizo. La condena que se encuentra en el versículo 27 de “No se hagan tonsuras en la cabeza” o “ni se corten la punta de la barba” se refería a la prohibición de una práctica pagana común de cortarse el pelo como adoración y honor de los anfitriones del cielo.           

Aquí está como los Comentarios de Matthew Henry y Coffman reflexionan sobre “el corte de pelo prohibido” de Levítico 19:27: “aquellos que adoraban a los anfitriones de cielo, en honor a ellos, se cortaban el pelo para que sus cabezas podrían parecerse al globo celeste; pero, ya que la costumbre era tonta en sí mismo, por lo tanto, siendo hecho con respecto a sus dioses falsos, era idólatra.' (El Comentario de Matthew Henry de la Biblia Entera, Levítico 19:27)

El hecho es que hasta hace unos pocos años, prácticamente todo el mundo, incluso el cristiano más liberal, sabía que el tatuaje estaba claramente prohibido por la Palabra de Dios. Y a través de la historia, el tatuaje siempre ha sido condenado por los cristianos que creen en la Biblia. Todo recurso histórico que se ha escrito sobre el tatuaje claramente confirma este hecho.

Jean Chris Miller declara en su libro; El Libro de Arte Corporal: Una Guía Completa, Ilustrada de Tatuajes, Perforaciones, y Otras Modificaciones de Cuerpo, p.9: “Como ocurrió en otras culturas con tradiciones de tatuaje, cuando estas tribus paganas fueron convertidas a la religión cristiana, sus ritos espirituales y culturales (que incluían tatuar, perforación y sacarificación) fueron prohibidas...”

“Siempre que los misioneros encontraron el tatuaje ellos lo erradicaron.” (Gilbert, Steve, Historia de Tatuaje: Un Libro de Referencia, p. 101) “Mientras estas y otras modificaciones de cuerpo siguieron siendo practicadas en secreto como una manera para la gente que no era cristiana identificarse el uno al otro, Dios guarde que fuera descubierto y su marca fuera revelada.” (Jean-Chris Miller, El Libro de Arte Corporal: Una Guía Completa, Ilustrada de Tatuajes, Perforaciones, y Otras Modificaciones de Cuerpo, p.11) Hasta unos años, prácticamente todo comentario escrito entendió Levítico 19:28 como una condena abierta del tatuaje.

James M. Freeman en su libro, Las Nuevas Maneras & costumbres de la Biblia, 1998 ed., p.157: dice de Levítico 19:28: “Tatuar Prohibido. Ambos el recorte como tatuar se llevaron a cabo por los paganos, y por lo tanto, Dios prohibió a Su pueblo de hacer así en imitación de ellos.”

Muchos tatuadores afirman que Isaías 44:5 y Ezequiel 9:4 son ejemplos que Dios ordenó tatuajes en la Biblia. Si usted lee estos versos en el original hebreo usted nunca sostendría que ellos se refieren a tatuajes. ¡Algunos tatuadores cristianos van al extremo como para afirmar que Jesús tiene un tatuaje! ¡Muchos tatuadores cristianos afirman que cuándo Jesucristo vuelve en el Apocalipsis capítulo 19:11-16 en un caballo, Él tiene un tatuaje en su muslo! ¿Puede alguien con algún discernimiento espiritual (y un cerebro) realmente cree que Jesús tiene un tatuaje? ¿No es asombroso que ciego espiritualmente alguien se haga cuando ellos comienzan a justificar su desobediencia a la Palabra de Dios? ¡Pero lo que realmente es espantoso de este bruto, pervertido, malvada interpretación de un Jesucristo tatuado en Apocalipsis 19:16, es que hace a Jesús un pecador! ¡Esto significa que Jesús claramente desobedeció Levítico 19:28! 

La mayoría de los cristianos, hasta el más carnal y recaído nunca profanarían o pervirtiera una iglesia. Incluso entre la gente más perdida hay una reverencia y santidad para el edificio de la iglesia. ¿Pero, sabía usted? Si usted realmente es hijo de Dios Su Espíritu mora dentro de Ud. (Juan 14:17, Romanos 8:9, 11) y su cuerpo es el templo del Dios vivo. I  Corintios  6:19-20 hace este muy claro. ¡El Señor advierte varias veces de la seriedad de profanar Su templo, su cuerpo! En 1 Corintios 3:17, el Señor claramente y severamente advierte contra la profanación de su cuerpo, el templo de Dios. ¡Si alguno profana el templo de Dios, Dios le destruirá!

Usted debe tener cuidado con lo que usted hace con su cuerpo. Es el templo de Dios. ¡Más le vale no profanarás con tatuajes paganos, que adoran al diablo! ¿Realmente cree usted que el Señor Jesucristo se complace con usted usando un tatuaje? ¿Cree usted sinceramente que la voluntad perfecta de Dios es que un cristiano, o cualquiera persona, sean marcados con un tatuaje?

 

 

TATTOOS: THE UNHOLY INK

“Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.” (Leviticus 19:28)

God gave this warning to the Israelites before they entered Canaan and the land they were promised as an inheritance. He did this because they were going into a land filled with people who did not worship him and who used a variety of methods (idols, markings on their body, etc.) to worship or honor their pagan deities. God did not want his people polluting themselves either by pursuing these false deities or by adopting pagan customs and using them to worship him. 

With the increasing popularity of tattoos, many Christians might be wondering: Does the Bible prohibit this kind of body drawing? I know some will have a hard time receiving this teaching because tattooing has now become an accepted practice in our society. However, just because society approves of something does not make it right in God’s eyes. 

Tattoos have their “roots” in witchcraft. Many young people today are doing these very things because of some witchcraft influences in their lives that they are unaware of. They do not realize that partaking of these can open the door to wrong and defiling influences in their lives.

Leviticus 19:28 is the Christian tattooist and tattoo bearer's worst nightmare. God plainly and without a doubt condemns the tattoo; “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.” Could that be any clearer?

This clear statement from the Word of God does not settle anything for this generation of disobedient, carnal, and worldly Christians. Rather than obey God, they go to great lengths to justify their open disobedience to the Word of God. How do they get around Leviticus 19:28? A lot of Christians when confronted with Leviticus 19:28, say, "That’s not for today. That’s the Old Testament. We’re under the New Testament".

Some people object to using Old Testament scripture as a reference to tattoos since the New Testament doesn’t speak of these things. However, in the New Testament, we are called to a higher law. We are to have God’s laws written in our hearts. When we remain close to the Lord and obey Him, He can direct us in things that are not good for us. For example, although the Bible does not say, “Thou shalt not smoke” or “Drug addiction is bad for you;” we know that these things are destructive to the human body. In the New Testament, we are told to glorify God in our bodies. This would include not marring our bodies with tattoos, as the principles in the Bible clearly tell us it is wrong to defile our bodies.

Was "bestiality" (sex with an animal) only forbidden in the Old Testament Levitical Law (Leviticus 18:23, 20:15-16)? Does that mean a Holy God now, under the New Testament, approves of bestiality? Leviticus 19:29 is the only place in the Bible that God directly forbids anyone from prostituting their daughter. Since it’s only in the Old Testament Levitical Law and we’re not under the law, is it ok by God for a parent to cause their daughter to prostitute today? There are many other "moral laws’ that are only forbidden in the Old Testament, such as the human sacrifice of children. Nowhere in the New Testament is this forbidden. Does that mean that now under the New Testament, God endorses throwing babies into the fire as a human sacrifice? This is the same line of reasoning and the same perversion of the Word of God.

Matthew Henry’s Commentary at the beginning of Leviticus 19 explains that most of Leviticus 19 (such as verse 19:28) are moral commandments that apply not only for Israel but for the New Testament Christian today. “There are some ceremonial precepts in this chapter, but most of them are moral. . . Most of these precepts are binding on us, for they are expositions of most of the Ten Commandments."
(Matthew Henry’s Commentary on the Whole Bible, Leviticus 19:28)

The favorite excuse for disobeying Leviticus 19:28 is; "That means, nor print any marks upon you for the dead. It’s ok, as long it’s not for the dead". Is it ok to practice satanic bloodletting, self-mutilation, or cutting of the flesh as long as it’s not for the dead? It’s in the same verse? Notice also, the phrase "for the dead" is only referencing to the "cuttings in your flesh". The condemnation of "nor print any marks upon you" is not qualified by the phrase "for the dead". Also, if you’ll notice the verse clearly says "any marks".

Unger's Bible Dictionary under the definition for "Mark" includes the following reference for Leviticus 19:28: "In Lev. 19:28 we find two prohibitions of an unnatural disfigurement of the body: 'Ye shall not make any cutting in your flesh for the dead, nor any print any marks upon you.' The latter (Heb. qa aqa, incision) refers to tattooing, and has no reference to idolatrous usages, but was intended to instill upon the Israelites a proper reverence for God's creation." (Merrill F. Unger, Unger's Bible Dictionary, 1974 ed., p. 696) Notice that tattoos were forbidden without any reference to pagan, barbarian, or idolatrous usages. In other words, the tattoo itself, regardless of the reason, was forbidden.

Wycliffe’s Bible Encyclopedia, 1975 ed., p. 1664 under the definition for tattooing distinctly says: “While “cutting in the flesh” have reference here to mourning customs [for the dead], the tattooing does not appear to pertain to such practice.”

The New American Commentary on Leviticus 19:28 states; the condemnation was for, "cutting the body either for the dead or with tattoo marks." (Mark F. Rooker, The New American Commentary on Leviticus, 2000 ed., p. 262) Explicitly recognizing the tattoo was not "for the dead."

Do you see how dishonest and disobedient it is to say, "it doesn’t apply to us because we are not under the law”? Find what you don’t like in the Word of God, cut it out, or misapply. This is the same tactics used by the satanic cults and heretics for years. You can prove anything and everything with such deceitful methods.

One of the silliest and childish arguments that some use to justify the wearing of tattoos is this: "Do you get a haircut or trim your beard? God condemned getting a haircut or trimming your beard in the verse before forbidding the tattoo. The tattoo is the same as getting a haircut." Believe it or not, this is a widely used argument.

Leviticus 19:26-28 is a clear condemnation of pagan, witchcraft, and heathen practices. Look at the context. Verse 26 is plainly referring to "enchantment [spells or witchcraft] nor observe times [astrology]. . . Verse 28 is the pagan, demonic practice of bloodletting [cuttings in your flesh] and tattooing. Why would the Lord stick in the middle a verse that "condemns simply getting a haircut"? Of course, He wouldn’t. . . And He didn’t. The condemnation found in verse 27 of "rounding the corners of your head" or "mar the corners of thy beard" was the forbidding of a common pagan practice that cut the hair as worship and honor of the hosts of heaven.

Here’s how Matthew Henry’s and Coffman’s Commentaries reflect on the "forbidden haircut" of Leviticus 19:27: "Those that worshipped the hosts of heaven, in honour of them, cut their hair so as that their heads might resemble the celestial globe; but, as the custom was foolish itself, so, being done with respect to their false gods, it was idolatrous." (Matthew Henry, Commentary on the Whole Bible, Leviticus 19:27)

The fact is that up until a few years ago, virtually everyone, including the most liberal Christian, knew the tattoo was clearly forbidden by the Word of God. And throughout history, the tattoo has always been condemned by Bible-believing Christians. Every historical resource ever written on tattoos clearly confirms this fact.

Jean Chris Miller states in his book: The Body Art Book: A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p.9; “Just as occurred in other cultures with tattoo traditions, when these pagan tribes were converted to the Christian religion, their spiritual and cultural rites (which included tattooing, piercing and scarification) were outlawed. . .”

"Whenever missionaries encountered tattooing they eradicated it." (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 101) "While these and other body modifications continued to be practiced underground as a way for non-Christian people to identify each other, God forbid you got caught and your mark was revealed." (Jean-Chris Miller, The Body Art Book: A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p.11) Up until a few years, virtually every commentary written understood Leviticus 19:28 as an open condemnation of the tattoo.

James M. Freeman in his book, The New Manners & Customs of the Bible, 1998 ed., p.157: says of Leviticus 19:28: "Tattooing Forbidden. Both cutting and tattooing were done by the heathens, and so God forbade His people from doing so in imitation of them."

Many tattooist claim Isaiah 44:5 and Ezekiel 9:4 are examples that God-ordained tattoos in the Bible. If you read these verses in the Hebrew original you would never argue that they are referring to tattoos. Some Christian tattooists go so far as to claim that Jesus has a tattoo! Many Christian tattooists claim that when Jesus Christ returns in Revelation chapter 19:11-16 on a horse, He has a tattoo on his thigh! Can anyone with any spiritual discernment (and a brain) really believe Jesus has a tattoo? Isn’t it amazing how spiritually blind someone becomes when they began to justify their disobedience to the Word of God?

Most Christians, even the most carnal and backslidden would never desecrate or defile the local church building. Even among the most lost people, there is a reverence and sacredness to the church building. But, did you know? If you are truly a son of God His Spirit dwells within you (John 14:17, Romans 8:9, 11) and your body is the temple of the living God. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 makes this very clear. The Lord warns several times of the seriousness of defiling His temple, your body! In 1 Corinthians 3:17, the Lord clearly and sternly warns against defiling your body, the temple of God. If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy!

You must be careful with what you do with your body. It is the temple of God. You’d better not defile it with pagan, devil-worshipping tattoos! Do you really believe the Lord Jesus Christ is pleased with you wearing a tattoo? Do you honestly believe God’s perfect will is for a Christian, or any person, to be marked with a tattoo?

 

 

LA MODIFICACIÓN CORPORAL

“Cazadnos las zorras, las zorras pequeñas, que echan a perder las viñas; Porque nuestras viñas están en cierne.” Cantares 2:15

Las zorras a veces en busca de alimento entraban en las huertas de uva y devoraban las uvas y echaban a perder la cosecha. Sin embargo, las zorras eran demasiadas pequeñas para alcanzar los racimos de uvas así que masticaban las vides y esto mataba la parra entera. En lugar de que el agricultor sólo perdiera su cosecha, él perdería su parra que era más desastroso. Espiritualmente algunas cosas que hacemos o permitimos que pudiéramos pensar que son pequeñas o insignificantes también puede ser desastrosos para nosotros.

Muchos pastores y predicadores guardan silencio sobre esta práctica, aun cuando muchos cristianos están abrazando una "zorra pequeña" peligrosa o aparentemente una "cosita" que puede parecer inocente. La popularidad de los tatuajes y perforación de cuerpo ha aumentado tremendamente. Somos encarados por un renacimiento de las viejas prácticas tribales de sacarificación de cuerpo, perforación de cuerpo y mutilación de cuerpo, anillos de nariz, anillos de ceja, anillos de vientre, espárragos de lengua, múltiples aretes, anillos del pezón  y tatuajes. Unos hasta se lo hacen en partes incalificable de sus cuerpos. Estos son anormales y antinaturales y todos son parte de una sub-cultura de identificación. ¿Cómo entonces podemos tolerar esta práctica extendida de la perforación de cuerpo y tatuar en la iglesia? “A Jehová tu Dios temerás, y a él solo servirás, y por su nombre jurarás. No andaréis en pos de dioses ajenos, de los dioses de los pueblos que están en vuestros contornos; porque el Dios celoso, Jehová tu Dios…para que no se inflame el furor de Jehová tu Dios contra ti…No tentaréis a Jehová vuestro Dios…Guardad cuidadosamente los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, y sus testimonios y sus estatutos que te ha mandado. Y haz lo recto y bueno ante los ojos de Jehová, para que te vaya bien… Mañana cuando te preguntare tu hijo, diciendo: ¿Qué significan los testimonios y estatutos y decretos que Jehová nuestro Dios os mandó?... éramos siervos de Faraón en Egipto, y Jehová nos sacó de Egipto con mano poderosa” Deuteronomio 6:13-21.

Entendemos que muchos pueden haber hecho estas cosas antes de hacerse un creyente y no eran conscientes de los peligros espirituales en tales prácticas. Este estudio no pretende condenar a nadie que puede haber tenido ya esto hecho, pero, para poner las cosas en perspectiva y dar respuestas a los que están en búsqueda. Le instamos a buscar al Señor en cuanto a alguna otra participación en esta práctica. 

La gente no realiza que lo que ellos están haciendo tiene sus raíces en la brujería y las prácticas de religiones falsas.  Aquellos que han hecho viajes a otras partes del mundo han visto los cuerpos de aquellos que no sólo han perforado y tatuado sus cuerpos, pero han ido más allá, con mutilar sus cuerpos. Hay una escritura específica; Isaías 3:18-23 que usa la palabra hebrea, 'Lachash', que es una palabra específicamente asociada con la brujería. Aquí, la joyería es usada como un amuleto para hechizar. Esto es lo que lo hace espiritualmente peligroso. La gente no realiza que esto abre la puerta para el ataque Satánico porque ellos tienen una marca o una apertura que permite la entrada enemiga en sus vidas.  Hoy en día esta práctica está creciendo debido a falsas religiones e influencias paganas.

Los cristianos no deben ser dictados por la cultura, y perforación de cuerpo y tatuar es ciertamente una tendencia del mundo; esto es el espíritu de nuestra edad. Somos llamados para ser santos, separados y diferentes del mundo, consagrados a Dios. El solo hecho de que los paganos practican la perforación de cuerpo debería ser un argumento lo suficientemente convincente contra los cristianos siendo conformado al mundo. “Mas vosotros sois linaje escogido, real sacerdocio, nación santa, pueblo adquirido por Dios, para que anunciéis las virtudes de aquel que os llamó de las tinieblas a su luz admirable” I Pedro 2:9. “Así que, hermanos, os ruego por las misericordias de Dios, que presentéis vuestros cuerpos en sacrificio vivo, santo, agradable a Dios, que es vuestro culto racional. No os conforméis a este siglo, sino transformaos por medio de la renovación de vuestro entendimiento, para que comprobéis cuál sea la buena voluntad de Dios, agradable y perfecta” Romanos 12:1-2.

Nuestros cuerpos importan. Ellos deben ser presentados a Dios como ofrendas santas, de una manera que agrada a Dios. No debemos seguir el ejemplo de los paganos. Haciendo agujeros en nuestros cuerpos no es respetarlos como templos del Espíritu Santo. Desfigurando permanentemente nuestros cuerpos es la rebelión flagrante a nuestro Creador y Redentor.

La cosa interesante es que mientras muchos precipitan a las religiones de la nueva era, perforación de cuerpo y ocultismo, millones en las tribus en África, Sudamérica, Asia y las islas Pacíficas, está siendo convertida a Cristo y están abandonando las prácticas de perforación de cuerpo de su pasado pagano. Está muy claro quiénes son los cristianos y quiénes son los paganos en estos campos de misión. Los paganos usan poca o ninguna ropa y ellos participan en una variedad de sacarificación de cuerpo, perforación de cuerpo y/o tatuajes. Por otra parte, los cristianos son fácilmente identificables, ellos usan ropa y ellos no participan en ninguna modificación de cuerpo.

Por supuesto, algunas personas más viejas todavía tendrán las cicatrices y los agujeros, testimonio del pasado pagano de que ellos antes de ser convertidos, pero todos los aretes, los anillos de ceja, los anillos de nariz han sido quitados. Y sus niños son libres de estas desfiguraciones paganas. Es algo raro ver en estas áreas Cristianos que voluntariamente perforan o tatuar sus cuerpos. De hecho, ellos son sorprendidos cuando los hombres Occidentales los visitan con coletas y aretes.

Como tantos cristianos se han sumergido en música pagana, videos inmorales y diversiones mundanas, esto no debería sorprendernos que muchos sean indistinguibles de sus amigos que no son cristianos. La pudrición de mente,  el entumecimiento de cerebro, basura que llena los oídos, ojos y mentes y destruye el alma de las personas debería ser la explicación suficiente del comportamiento recaído, inmoral e no cristiano, que ahora hasta incluye a Cristianos de profesión que desfiguran sus cuerpos con la perforación pagana. Los aretes usado por el varón no dejan de tener sentido. El arete en el oído derecho sólo, identifica al homosexual (gay); el oído izquierdo sólo, un perno macho o fornicario, y ambos oídos, una persona bisexual. “No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos” Romanos 3:8.

Tenemos una generación ahora de gente que ama al Señor aún no entienden todos Sus caminos. La mayoría no han visto el cristianismo verdadero. Sin embargo, cuando ellos vienen realmente a Cristo muchos traerán sus tatuajes, vestimenta, música y viejos hábitos con ellos  a la iglesia. Debemos estar seguros que no los despreciamos, pero por otra parte, no debemos aceptar todo lo que ellos desearían traer con ellos que los dañarían y comprometería la palabra de Dios. “Así que, amados, puesto que tenemos tales promesas, limpiémonos de toda contaminación de carne y de espíritu, perfeccionando la santidad en el temor de Dios” II Corintios 7:1. “Y el mismo Dios de paz os santifique por completo; y todo vuestro ser, espíritu, alma y cuerpo, sea guardado irreprensible para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo” I Tesalonicenses 5:23.

 

   

 

 

 

BODY MODIFICATION

 

"Take us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes." Song of Solomon 2:15

Foxes sometimes in search of food would enter into the grape orchards and devour the grapes and spoil the crop. However, the little foxes were too small to reach the grape bunches so they would chew on the vines and it would kill the whole vine. Instead of the farmer just losing his crop, he would lose his vine which was more disastrous. Spiritually some things we do or allow that we might think are little or insignificant can also be disastrous for us.

Many pastors and preachers remain silent on this practice, even while many Christians are embracing a dangerous "little fox" or seemingly "little thing" that may seem harmless. The popularity of Tattoos and body piercing has increased tremendously. We are confronted by a revival of the old tribal practices of body scarification, body piercing, and body mutilation, nose rings, eyebrow rings, belly rings, tongue studs, multiple earrings, nipple rings, and tattoos. Some even have this done on unspeakable parts of their bodies. These are abnormal and unnatural and are all part of an identifiable sub-culture. How then can we tolerate this widespread practice of body piercing and tattooing in the church? "Fear the Lord your God, serve Him only … Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; for the Lord your God … is a jealous God and His anger will burn against you … Do not test the Lord … Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees He has given you. Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that it may go well with you … in the future, when your sons asks you, ‘What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the Lord your God has commanded you?’ ‘We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand …" Deuteronomy 6:13 – 21

We understand many may have done these things before becoming a believer and were not aware of the spiritual dangers in such practices. This writing is not meant to condemn anyone that may have already had this done but to put things in perspective and give answers to those who are searching.

People do not realize that what they are doing has its roots in witchcraft and the practices of false religions. Those that have made trips to other parts of the world have viewed the bodies of those who have not only pierced and tattooed their bodies but have gone further, with mutilating their bodies. There is one specific scripture; Isaiah 3:18-23 which uses the Hebrew word, "lachash," which is a word specifically associated with witchcraft. Here, the jewelry is used as an amulet to cast a spell. This is what makes it spiritually dangerous. People do not realize that this opens the door for satanic attack because they have a mark or an opening which allows the enemy entrance into their lives. Today this practice is growing because of false religions and pagan influences.

Christians are not to be dictated by the culture, and body piercing and tattooing is certainly a trend of the world; it is the spirit of our age. We are called to be holy, set apart and different from the world consecrated to God. The very fact that pagans practice body piercing should be a compelling enough argument against Christians being conformed to the world. "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light" 1 Peter 2:9. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – which is your spiritual worship. Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will" Romans 12: 1-2.

Our bodies matter. They are to be presented to God as holy offerings, in a way that pleases God. We are not to follow the example of the pagans. Making holes in our bodies is hardly respecting them as temples of the Holy Spirit. Permanently disfiguring our bodies is a blatant rebellion to our Creator and Redeemer.

The interesting thing is that while so many rush into new age religions, body piercing, and occultism, millions in the tribes in Africa, South America, Asia, and the Pacific islands, are being converted to Christ and are abandoning the body piercing practices of their pagan past. It is very clear who are the Christians and who are the pagans in these mission fields. The pagans wear little or no clothing and they engage in a variety of body scarification, body piercing, and or tattoos. On the other hand, Christians are easily identifiable, they wear clothes and they don’t engage in any body modification.

Of course, some older people will still have the scars and the holes, testimony of the pagan past before they were converted, but all earrings, eyebrow rings, nose rings have been removed. And their children are free from these pagan disfigurements. It is unheard of in these areas for Christians to voluntarily pierce or tattoo their bodies. In fact, they are shocked when Western men visit them with ponytails and earrings.

As so many Christians have immersed themselves in pagan music, immoral videos, and worldly amusements, it should not surprise us that so many are indistinguishable from their non-Christian friends. The mind-rotting, brain-numbing, soul-destroying trash that fills the ears, eyes, and minds of people should be sufficient explanation for the backslidden, immoral and un-Christian behavior, which now even includes professing Christians disfiguring their bodies with pagan piercings. Earrings worn by the male are not without meaning. The earring in the right ear only identifies the homosexual (gay); the left ear only, a male stud or fornicator, and both ears, a bi-sexual person. "There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:18

We have a generation now of people that love the Lord yet do not understand all of His ways. Most have not seen true Christianity. However, when they do come to Christ many will be bringing their tattoos, dress, music, and old habits with them right into the church. We must be sure that we do not despise them nor look down on them, but on the other hand, we must not accept all that they would desire to bring with them that would harm them and compromise the Word of God. "Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." II Corinthians 7:1; "May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:23
